So the Health Department here in St Louis requires a Hep A vaccination if you are going to work with food. (I think this is a somewhat uncommon ordinance and is not required in most cities) Don't worry, I'm not changing careers, I'm just going to be doing a little baking on the side. I belong to the local Junior League chapter, and a big thing they do here in St Louis is bake and sell cinnamon rolls. (BTW, St Louis-area readers, or visitors - I can hook you up - $12/tray of buttery, sugary bad-for-you-ness, *and* it supports a great community organization!)
Anyway, so I had the opportunity to get the shot last night at our membership meeting. (I was a total baby about it too. I'm so afraid of shots - and it was totally nothing.) The nurse suggested I have it in my right arm, since the more I moved that arm that evening the less soreness I would have. Well, I moved my arm every which way all evening, and I still woke up sore as heck from shoulder to forearm. I can only imagine what it would have been like if I wasn't compulsively fidgeting my arm all evening.
It has worked its way out over the course of the day... except for when I raise my arm above shoulder height. The shot was right into the deltoid, and it's still a little unhappy. I can't skip class tonight because we have a big show coming up, so I have to be there to rehearse. But it's going to get in the way of my really enjoying class tonight for sure.
