Saturday's presentation of Saiidi dance went fine. I ended up not being able to track down anyone else to join me on such short notice, so I gave the presentation by myself. It went really well! I was very, very nervous all morning before the show, and I had to come up with a plan for how to structure the demo part of the class a little differently. Once I got there, though, it all came together, everything went well, the audience had lots of questions, and it was a lot of fun.
Turns out that she couldn't make it for Monday night's presentation either, so me and another dancer did it together. It was great! The audience was a little different, no kids, just a college Contemporary World Cultures class. They were great, and had fun dancing with us.
Overall, the whole experience has made me feel a lot more confident in my ability to present and teach on my own if necessary. It was a great learning experience for me, even though I was ostensibly the teacher!
